eTherapy – Occupational eTherapy & Speech eTherapy

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy within the school environment addresses skills students need to access and participate in their curriculum and education. We believe that all students should be as independent as possible and active participants in their education process. Occupational therapy e-sessions are similar to traditional sessions but instead of sitting in the same room as the OT, interaction will take place via video conferencing. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistance will help facilitate the session by being in the same location as the student.

During e-sessions, therapists can evaluate, consult, and provide direct treatment to the student. Skills such as fine motor, motor coordination, visual motor integration, visual perceptual, executive functioning, self regulation, and sensory processing can be addressed through e-sessions. Sessions will be customized and follow the goals of the student’s individual education plan or 504 plan. Therapists will utilize computer based activities as well as hands on activities to engage the student and address the students goals.

Speech Therapy

In addition to occupational therapy, we also offer speech e-therapy. Students will connect with a NJDOE- certified Speech Language Pathologist who also has obtained their CCCs through the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. Whether the student needs to work on improving his or her articulation or has goals towards language development, the Speech Language Pathologist, will help them achieve those goals. The student will also have access to independent assignments to practice when not participating in the live session.
